GED Testing

About the GED Test

The GED test is key to opening doors to college, a better job, and earning the respect you deserve. Don’t miss this chance to turn one small step into your next big opportunity in life!

A new computer-based version of the GED test was introduced in January 2014. Old and the new test modules cannot be combined. An individual who took and passed parts of the GED before 2014, but did not complete and pass the entire GED and receive the GED diploma are required to begin the GED testing process over again.

  • Administered on computer at an Official GED Testing Center of your choice.
  • Administered in English or Spanish (all 4 tests must be taken in the same language).

A Minimum Passing Score of 145 on each test earns your GED credential. A Passing Score with Honors of 170 and above demonstrates career and college-readiness.

All candidates are required to bring valid, government issued photo ID on test day.

There are four (4) subject areas of the GED test:

GED Subject Area Allotted Minutes
