Atlanta Technical College will host a Health and Wellness Expo February 23 from 10am-2pm. The college will partner with the Atlanta Public Schools to provide health screenings, seminars, and workshops. Guest speakers and industry professionals will be on-site to provide continuing education and answer health-related questions at the annual event.
More than 26 vendors will be represented at the event. They include Ankle & Foot Centers of Georgia, Atlanta Fibroid Clinic, Diabetes Association of Atlanta, Inc., Home Helpers of Atlanta, University of Georgia Expanded Food & Nutrition, and the Wholistic Stress Control Institute.
Strength and flexibility, vision, and cholesterol testing will be offered. Health coaches will be on hand to interpret the test results.
The Health and Wellness Expo is a vital part of helping to educate the community on health care issues. “We are expecting students, faculty, and staff, as well as surrounding residents to attend and take advantage of this community-wide effort”, said Curtis Halton, director of continuing education.
