ATLANTA (September 20, 2019) – Dr. Victoria Seals, President of Atlanta Technical College (ATC), is proud to announce the newest addition to her Senior Leadership Team with the hiring of Ms. Melanie Sewell. In her new role as the Vice President of Administrative Services, Ms. Sewell will lead the efforts of the Business Office, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and the Bookstore.
“The Atlanta Technical College family is happy to welcome back one of our own,” said Dr. Seals. “Ms. Sewell has distinguished herself as a leader in the field of accounting. She has a clear commitment to student success and improving business processes. We are excited about the wealth of knowledge and expertise Ms. Sewell brings to the college as we look for innovative ways to help our students become successful and productive citizens.”
Ms. Sewell returns to ATC after working for the Fulton County Board of Health as the Director of Finance. While working for the county, Ms. Sewell organized revenue forecasts for operational funds and managed all functions of the Financial Department, including budget and general accounting. Prior to this, she worked for ATC for over 14 years, ascending to the Director of Accounting position. During that time, Ms. Sewell managed all functions of the accounting office and day-to-day operations, including budget, accounts payable, revenue, and expenses.
Since 2003, Ms. Sewell has been accredited by the University of Georgia Certification of Governmental Accounting Program. She received an Award of Distinction for her skills in Financial Reporting from the Georgia Department of Audits, as well as Special Recognition of Exemplary PAR Audit from the State System Office. Ms. Sewell received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of West Georgia and a Masters in Accounting from the DeVry-Keller School of Management.
