Chief's Welcome

Greetings Scholars,

Welcome to Atlanta Technical College. I am your Chief of Police, Twyla Locklear. I am honored to serve as your college campus Police Chief. My department is here to maintain a safe and secure learning environment in which faculty and staff help facilitate student success in preparation for the global workforce.

The Atlanta Technical College Police Department is responsible for maintaining safety and security at the Main Campus in Atlanta and the South Campus in Atlanta through routine patrol efforts, security, and surveillance measures, as well as updated police strategies. The Atlanta Technical College Police Department consists of both full-time and part-time state of Georgia P.O.S.T. certified police officers.

We are working hard to meet the safety needs of our campus community and welcome your feedback. Weapons Policy

The Technical College System of Georgia is committed to providing all employees, students, volunteers, visitors, vendors and contractors a safe and secure workplace and/or academic setting. The possession, carrying, or transportation of a firearm, weapon, or explosive compound/material in or on college buildings or property shall be governed by Georgia state law. All individuals are expected to comply with the related laws. Failure to follow laws pertaining to weapons is considered a violation of the Student Code of Conduct. Campus Safety

The Atlanta Technical College campus is patrolled by security personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should you require assistance, the Security Office is located on the upper level of the Main Academic Building, in the lobby.
