Our Mission
The Atlanta Technical College Early Education Center, in alignment with the mission of the college, is committed to providing world-class early learning experiences and comprehensive family support services. We are positioned to lead the field through innovative teaching practices by:
- Responding to the needs of the students and families we serve.
- Implementing current educational trends and evidence-based research in early education (birth to five).
- Emphasizing school readiness from “Cradle to College.”
Who We Serve
The Early Education Center is licensed by the State of Georgia to serve 87 children and their families. Our students range in age from 6 months to 5 years. We serve both typically developing children and those diagnosed with cognitive or physical developmental delays.
- 90% of our families live at or below the federal poverty guideline.
- Families qualify for various economic support services, including subsidized childcare and housing assistance.
- The center is located in a “red zone” as designated by the United Way of Greater Atlanta, indicating that a disproportionate number of residents and children in the area fall significantly below widely held expectations of achievement.
