Atlanta Technical College Announces 2024 Student and Instructor of the Year

ATLANTA (April 25, 2024) – Atlanta Technical College (ATC) proudly announces its “Best in Class” for 2024. The college recognizes outstanding individuals through the presentation of the 2024 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL), 2024 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction, and 2024 Dinah Culbreath Wayne Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE).

During the annual “Best in Class” ceremony on November 15, 2023, Atlanta Technical College announced the winners who will represent the institution in regional competitions. Following the regional rounds, successful students and instructors will advance to contend for statewide titles within their respective categories. The final competition is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, April 29-May 1, 2024.

GOAL highlights student excellence, recognize leadership qualities, and celebrates the academic achievement of students in technical colleges across the Technical College System of Georgia. ATC’s GOAL winner, Karen Roman, who is studying cyber security, was nominated by Dr. Peter Ejindu, the Computer Information System Technology program coordinator.

Nominated by her peers and representing instructional excellence, Ms. Amanda Daniels is the 2024 Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year. Ms. Daniels is the program director and clinical coordinator for the Pharmacy Technology program at Atlanta Technical College and boasts more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy education and clinical pharmacy.

The College is equally honored to announce Ms. Ebony Williams as the representative for Atlanta Technical College at the Dinah Culbreath Wayne EAGLE Leadership Institute. This institute acknowledges exemplary achievement in adult education programs and serves as a platform to promote lifelong learning pursuits among students.
