At its first annual Legislative Showcase, Atlanta Tech Launches its Wheels of Equity Campaign for a new Center for Transportation and Logistics

August 27, 2021

Representatives of the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia toured the campus of Atlanta Technical College (ATC) to learn more about “the best-kept secret in Atlanta”.  With tours hosted by student ambassadors, faculty, or staff, guests to the campus were given a detailed tour of the best ATC has to offer.  Stops included the Cosmetology labs, the automotive repair facilities, and the Brenda Watts Jones Allied Health building.

The purpose of this event was to showcase a proposal for the new Center for Transportation and Logistics, an expansion that would allow ATC students to enhance their training in logistics, truck driving, and fulfillment.

In the new Center for Transportation and Logistics, Atlanta Tech will have the opportunity to tailor the space to accommodate the needs of their programs. The building will have extra high ceilings so diesel trucks can be lifted high enough in the air that students can walk under them while they are working.

Atlanta Tech is also one of the few schools in Georgia to have a driving simulator for students in the commercial driver’s license program. Their students have a 100 percent pass rate when it comes to the CDL test.
