The Air Conditioning Technology program prepares students for careers in the heating and air conditioning industry. The program is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge, skills, work habits, and practical applications of air conditioning systems required for entry-level employment in today’s air conditioning industry. Graduates will be able to efficiently perform in the installation, maintenance and service of air conditioning systems.

The Automotive Collision Repair program emphasizes either major automotive collision repair or automotive collision repair or automotive painting and refinishing depending on the specialization area a student chooses to complete. Program graduates may work as major collision repair technicians or painting and refinishing technicians.

The Automotive Technology program at Atlanta Technical College prepares students for careers in the automotive industry and the repair profession. It emphasizes a curriculum in automotive mechanics theory and practical applications necessary for skillful employment. Program graduates will be well-rounded entry-level technicians. This program does not administer certification testing.

The Carpentry program prepares students for careers in carpentry and construction. It emphasizes a combination of carpentry theory and practical applications necessary for successful employment. Program graduates will have the qualifications for an entry–level residential carpenter or entry–level commercial carpenter.

The program will prepare students for immediate employment at the technical level in engineering design, drafting, surveying and construction. The program will provide theory and practice to move into the workforce with engineering consultants, surveying firms, state and local government, public works, construction companies, highway departments, and soil and material testing firms. The program will consist of two specializations, a general tract or surveying specialization. Students may choose to complete the either tract for an A.S. degree.

The Construction Manager Technical Certificate of Credit prepares students for entry-level Construction Management supervisory positions. Topics include principles of accounting, estimating review, construction drafting, codes review, computerized scheduling, and construction contracting.

It emphasizes a combination of truck, heavy equipment, marine systems, emergency power generator repair theory, and practical applications necessary for successful employment depending on the specialization area a student chooses to complete.

The Drafting Technology program prepares students for employment in a variety of positions in the drafting field, such as drafter or CAD operator based on the specialization area a student chooses to complete. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skills and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to upgrade present knowledge and skills or retrain in drafting practices and software.

This program provides training in the fundamentals of the electrical trade. Classroom and laboratory experiences enable the student to become proficient in installation & maintenance of electrical wiring, transformers: A/C and D/C motor control circuit, instrumentation, and programmable logic controllers used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Students will be provided training in targeted areas geared to student involvement in installation and the maintenance of electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.

This program offers entry-level training in both AC and DC electrical circuits, electrical components soldering, and will prepare students to work as entry-level technicians in a manufacturing environment or as service technicians in the telecommunications industry.

The Industrial Engineering Technology program uniquely designed for application in broad-spectrum automation industrial technologies including transportation, health, alternate green energy, robotics manufacturing, and upcoming nanotechnology.
